Hello! I am a PhD candidate in computer science at UC Berkeley. I’m extremely fortunate to be coadvised by Ben Recht and Nika Haghtalab, and to be supported by a NSF GRFP.

My recent work concerns how we might learn from, and give voice to, members of the public regarding AI (especially ‘societal impacts’); this includes, e.g., post-deployment evaluations via individual reporting or using social media data as early signals for impact. Beyond my academic work, I am a cofounder of Reboot and have edited many issues of Kernel, our annual(ish) print magazine. I’ve also thought a lot and have feelings about Chinese dance, ~ alignment ~, and doing Real creative work (research or otherwise).
